The first institute of Canadian inventors (FICI), established in 2015 is the first and only representative of IFIA in Canada. We have initiated the first National Inventors’ Team of Canada (NITC) to partake in international competitions run by IFIA and under the observation of the UN.

IFIA is a non-profit organization established in 1968 which assembles over 135 member organization from more than 95 countries dedicated to supporting inventors around the globe.

IFIA organizes international invention competitions, scientific seminars, workshops with the collaboration of other international organizations to provide an opportunity for its member to exhibit their innovations and benefit from its wealth of knowledge. Also, IFIA holds an international congress and conference where all members freely dialogue and exchange their views to promote the inventive and entrepreneurial spirit. Social networking at the IFIA event allows members to increase their contacts and knowledge base to possible commercialization with different stakeholders.

We help our members from their idea stage to the industrial and marketing stage and our goal is to industrialize inventions by connecting inventors to industries, investors or supporting them to run their startups and make their own business.

FICI runs different workshops not only for members but for interested people and specially entrepreneurs. We have marketing, management, business plan writing, B2B and workshops, most of our services are free for members and the others offer with special discount.

We have specific services for nominated national team members before and after international competitions. Consultation sessions to match the criteria of their invention with that competition(s), presentation workshop and technical consultancy session are offering before competition; marketing and connecting them with representatives of industries in that country or representatives who are coming from other countries to that competition and legal aids are offering during the competitions and finally link them to the national industries to increase their chance for selling their ideas are part of our services for our team members.
