KIWIE 2017 Report
The 10th anniversary of Korea International Women’s Invention Exposition, KIWIE 2017, organized by Korea Women Inventors Association (KWAI) took place from June 8 to 11, 2017 under the patronage of IFIA convening around 300 women inventors from 24 countries. The large participation of women and extensive display of inventions is a good testimony of the passion of women for invention.
Since its foundation in 1993, Korea Women Inventors Association has played a leading role in women’s development by continuously providing various IP training and support programs to help women discover their creativity and improve their economic situations.
KIWIE offers an opportunity to raise the global status of women and strengthen the solidarity and cooperation among world women inventors.
To honor the accomplishment of women and their contribution to the advancement of technology, IFIA President, Alireza Rastegar awarded IFIA Best Invention Medal and Certificate to the best inventions evaluated and elected by the Jury Board.
Korea International Women’s Invention Forum
The forum aims to form a global human network among women inventors and share future visions. The forum is annually held to introduce success stories of women inventors and entrepreneurs in advancing into foreign markets, notable support policies at the national level and support measures.
IP Wave for Creative Women Leaders
The international workshop for women inventors and entrepreneurs offers three to four courses of IP Panorama which is the educational program of WIPO customized to women inventors and small- and medium-sized companies.
The event organized by Korea Intellectual Property Office, Korea Inventors Association and World Intellectual Property Organization debuted on June 12 and lasted up to June 13. Around 150 women inventors and entrepreneurs, women in the science and technology industry and executives of SMEs from 19 countries took part in the event.
