IFIA AND ABIPIR ENCOURAGE FUTURE GENERATIONS OF INVENTORS
It is with great satisfaction that the International Federation of Inventors Association – IFIA and the Brazil International Inventors, Scientists and Entrepreneurs Association – ABIPIR, responsible for managing the Latin American office of IFIA, announce that they are supporters of the Global Innovation Field Innovation.
Supporting the future generation of inventors, scientists and entrepreneurs has been part of IFIA’s mission and purpose through its President Alireza Rastegar and ABIPIR, since its foundation in 2011.
There were several ABIPIR initiatives supported by IFIA over these 10 years offering the opportunity for children and adolescents to present their work and show their talents, such as Innovacities – International Applied Science, Inventions, Innovations, and Business Fair, in its 13 editions and with the Genome of Innovation workshop, the applied methodology to achieve this goal.
Now, to enrich the portfolio of activities focused on this mission of stimulating the formation of this future and talented generation, we support GIFT.
The Global Innovation Field Trip (GIFT) is the 24-hour, quarterly, multi-country, online celebration of young innovators and programs who support and inspire innovation.
Launched in the spring of 2020, at the onset of the pandemic in the United States, as a way to acknowledge the hard work of young innovators, the event quickly grew in popularity as it drew attention from around the globe. GIFT hosts 10 and 20-minute presentations over the course of the 24-hour event, recorded via Zoom, live-streamed over YouTube, and post-event recordings all individually cataloged on the GIFT website.
By spring of 2021, additions to the program included Professional Development, Competition Kickoffs/Finales, Award Ceremonies, Teen Discussion Panels, and Student Co-Hosts. In the first 14 months GIFT has been the host platform for more than 500 innovative presentations from 43 countries. The program now welcomes 20+ international guest co-hosts to each event. “Our goal, “ said Juli Shively, Co-Founder of GIFT,“ is to continue to collaborate with youth and innovation organizations worldwide, making this program available to student innovators in even the hardest to reach locations around the world.”
