The Meaning of the IFIA Logo
Origins and Protection
The IFIA logo was designed in 1968. The letter “I” stands for Inventor, Innovator, Invention, Innovation, Idea, and Intellectual Property. Moreover, the logo was registered at the Swiss Institute of Intellectual Property under number 687082.
Symbolism and Design
The design has clear meaning. The “i” is simple and playful, showing creativity. However, the “fia” is structured and logical, reflecting order. Together, they balance imagination and science.
The square around the “i” represents stability and logic. In contrast, when extended, it forms a rectangle that suggests growth and progress. In addition, the separate “i” highlights individuality. Every inventor is unique, and IFIA protects this uniqueness with supportive rules.
Colors and Meaning
-
Blue square → movement and dynamism.
-
White “i” → freedom and independence.
-
Gray “fia” → neutrality and support.
Ultimately, the IFIA logo expresses the spirit of invention. It combines creativity with structure, individuality with community, and freedom with science.
