Two Sri Lankan Ministers have Appointed the IFIA Executive Committee Member as their Commissioner
Prof. N. M. S. Sirimuthu honored to become the commissioner of Minister of Skills Development, Vocational Education, Research & Innovations and Minister of Education
Accordingly, on behalf of the President of IFIA and our members, we congratulate Prof. N. M. S. Sirimuthu.
He will lead to the growth of innovation and science in the country of Sri Lanka, just as Slic has developed a culture of innovation and creativity which is one of the goals of IFIA.
Since 2023, Prof. N M S Sirimuthu has been the commissioner of two ministers of the Ministry of Skills Development, Vocational Education, Research & Innovations, and Ministry of Education at Slic.
Sri Lanka Inventors Commission (SLIC) is a Statutory Body that came into operation on 1st August 1987 by virtue of the powers vested in the Sri Lanka Inventors Incentives Act No 53 of 1979. As per the Act, the Sri Lanka Inventors Commission shall consist of a Commissioner and two Assistant Commissioners appointed by the Cabinet of Ministers on the recommendation of the Minister of the line Ministry. SLIC promotes the nation’s inventiveness by providing technical, financial, and legal assistance.
This organization, which is one of the most active organizations in the invention field in Sri Lanka, is an educational system that aims at providing the organization and coordination of students’ research activities, creating conditions for their intellectual and creative development, spiritual advance, and vocational self-determination to support the potential scientific growth of the country.
