Geneva Salon 2017 Report
The 45th edition of the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva took place in Palexpo’s Hall 7 from 29 March to 2 April, garnering general satisfaction from the exhibitors and organizers alike. For this year’s exhibition, which marked the Palexpo’s return as the event organizer, the surface was extended to 8,500 square meters to accommodate inventors from 40 different countries. Palexpo’s electronic registration system, which was used for the first time this year, recorded 30’680 entries an hour before the exhibition closed.
725 exhibitors (30 more than in 2016) and a thousand inventions were displayed in the International Exhibition of Geneva which confirmed its position as the most important specialist event of its kind in the world. A very large number of exhibitors reported that they had done excellent business and established some very useful contacts during the event. This showcase exhibition attracted investors and companies from all over the world. Building on its reputation for professionalism and being of serious, this year’s event was marked by a very high proportion of inventions in the area of health, medicine, the environment and security.
Jean-Luc Vincent, the event’s Founding President, said: “The ever greater prominence of universities and other state institutions at the Exhibition proves once again the universality and quality of this not-to-be-missed event in the world of inventors. The general level of the innovations on show goes up every year.”
Claude Membrez, the General Manager of Palexpo, was also more than content: “We are very happy to be back as organizers of an event that brings us into contact with an exciting new topic area and a group of exhibitors that changes every year.”
During the award ceremony, the prizes of International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) including the cash prize and Best Invention Medal were awarded to the best technologies displayed in the event. Click to find the details of IFIA Prize winners.
