IFIA 15th Virtual Executive Committee Meeting
IFIA 15th Virtual Executive Committee meeting was organized on 14 January 2018 to discuss three issues of importance and put them into voting.
Firstly, the members were requested to express their opinion about the organization of six free of charge webinars for IFIA Members by IDEATION, a company specialized in IP Management pursuant to the collaboration between IFIA and IDEATION.
The training topic theme is innovation and the management of intellectual property. The topics covered include trade secrets versus patents, absolute cyber-security, block-chain, and of course technology transfer and fund raising for both research projects and startups.
The members welcomed the idea stating that industrial property knowledge has to be widely shared among the inventors since some unlucky basic mistakes in the beginning of inventor´s work can ruin his/her chances for strong patent.
The second issue was the application send by Mr. Jalal Alnakasah, founding member of the National Foundation for Libyan inventors for IFIA Executive Committee membership after the specified deadline. A majority of IFIA Executive Committee Members admitted to include him in the final list of candidates.
Finally, the members were informed of a newly-received membership request from Nigeria named Foundation for Design and Invention Nigeria (FDIN) which aims to organize inventors in Nigeria for purposes of raising awareness on Intellectual Property Rights, Design, Inventions and Innovations.
FDIN gained the majority of positive votes and was admitted as IFIA Candidate Member.
