IFIA FPME: Promoting Innovation in the Middle East
In the year 2016, the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) selected The National Association for Science and research (NAS), a Lebanese non-governmental, nonprofit organization that aims to foster innovation and technological creativity among youth, as its Focal Point in the Middle East (IFIA FPME).
As NAS has dedicated a section of its headquarter as a business incubator, to support innovators realize and valorize their innovations, IPG Photonics managers (multi-billion firm) have visited NAS premises to discuss potential collaboration means between both entities to promote technology transfer in laser sciences. Meanwhile, IFIA FPME serves members in the area to enhance communication between them, and encourage inventors and innovators in this region.
IFIA FPME conducts meetings with associations, organisations, leading companies and decision makers to analyse their needs and assess potential involvement in innovation related projects. Several delegations have visited IFIA FPME, including a delegation from Tunis Science City headed by the President Dr. Khaled Hani, a delegation from Africa City of Technology – Sudan headed by the President Dr. OusamaRayes, in addition to a delegation from Iran headed by Dr. Shariatmadar.
IFIA FPME intends to organizethe 2nd Beirut International Innovation Show (BIIS) between February 28 and March 2, 2019. BIIS aims to become a global leading venue for Innovators, Inventors and Investors with strong emphasis on Technology Transfer and Research Valorisation. All details will be revealed soon with invitation to all IFIA members to participate.
