IFIA President Meets HKIA President in Hong Kong
On Tuesday, December 5, IFIA President, Alireza Rastegar accompanied with IFIA Executive Committee Member, Hossein Vaezi Ashtiani and IFIA Strategic Planning Manager, Masoud Shafaghi paid a visit to Hong Kong Invention Association (HKIA) office, IFIA Full Member.
HKIA President, Yeung Kau Sam, warmly welcomed IFIA Team and expressed enthusiasm for being a member of an international organization of importance and IFIA president stressed the importance of strengthening the present cooperation and contribute to the attainment of parallel visions through mutual collaboration.
Mr. Sam provided a brief report on the activities performed in HKIA, with 300 individual members, to encourage invention and innovation, raise the status of inventors and turn their innovations into commercial products by creating a network between their member inventors and enterprises and assisting the members to detect the innovative requirements and come up with an appropriate solution to the existing problems.
To raise awareness about the protection of intellectual property and gain the exclusive right over their innovations, HKIA frequently organizes local and international seminars to discuss the various aspects of invention and innovation and offers financial support for the realization of HKIA visions.
HKIA has also been actively publishing different forms of materials including books and magazines to present the cutting-edge and most recent innovative technologies to the world.
The participation of national inventors in international invention exhibitions has been ensured relying on the support offered by HKIA to give international recognition to their members.
HKIA also runs training sessions in the elementary schools in order to ensure the emergence of an innovative generation in later years.
Finally, it was decided to exchange training materials with IFIA and promote the projects that IFIA offers free of charge among the members of HKIA.
