400 Inventions are Showcased in “INFOINVENT” 2017
The 15th edition of the International Specialized Exhibition “INFOINVENT” took place from November 15 to 18, 2017 in the Central Pavilion of the International Exhibition Center “Moldexpo”.
The event was organized by the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) in partnership with the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (ASM), Agency for Innovation and Technology Transfer (AITT) and IEC “Moldexpo” and with the support of the European Patent Office (EPO) and International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA).
The exhibition was attended by almost 100 institutions and enterprises, young creators and inventors from the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Portugal, Croatia, Czech Republic, South Korea, Chinese Taipei, Turkey, Morocco, Indonesia, etc., presenting at the exhibition stands about 400 inventions, innovative and creative products/services, innovation and technology transfer projects, etc.
During the inauguration ceremony, AGEPI Director General Lilia Bolocan welcomed the guests and participants in the exhibition, noting that INFOINVENT is a major event for the Republic of Moldova. Lilia Bolocan expressed confidence that INFOINVENT will attract investment in innovation and technology transfer, develop regional and international technical and scientific cooperation and contribute to the stimulation of new ideas. At the same time, for the interested visitors, the exhibition is a real platform for information in the field of intellectual property, as well as in the field of use of innovations and technology transfer projects, AGEPI Director General added.
In the period 15-16 November, the International Innovation Conference with the main title “Intellectual Property – Innovations – Quality of Life” took place at the Wine House. The event was organized by AGEPI, in cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and with the support of the EU Technical Assistance Project “Support to Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights in the Republic of Moldova”. At its third edition, the Conference addressed issues related to national policies and strategies in the field of innovation and intellectual property for the country’s economic growth.
The award ceremony took place on November 17, at Moldexpo.Thus, the nearly 400 works exhibited at the stands were appreciated by the Committee of Experts and the International Jury of the exhibition with the following distinctions: gold medals – 129, silver medals – 72 and bronze medals – 55.
During the awards ceremony, AGEPI Director General Lilia Bolocan congratulated the participants in the exhibition: “We hope that the efforts made by the participants and organizers will help to familiarize the general public with the advantages and benefits of legal protection of inventions and other intellectual property objects for the benefit of authors and right holders. I wish the inventors, researchers, representatives of innovative enterprises and creative people to use their works, to get financing and to contribute to the progress of the Republic of Moldova.”, added Lilia Bolocan.
The most important distinction awarded under the ISE “INFOINVENT” is the Award of the Government of the Republic of Moldova “Outstanding Inventor”. In this edition, the great prize was given to inventor Victor Covaliov, for the cycle of inventions in the field of ecology.
