ISIF 2017 Report
Istanbul, March 2017 – Istanbul International Invention Fair (ISIF’17) took place from 2 to 4 March 2017 in Istanbul WOW Convention Center. ISIF was organized by Anatolia Inventions and Inventors Association and hosted by Turkish Patent and Trademark Office. ISIF also enjoyed the support of Republic of Turkey Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, International Federation of Inventors’ Associations and World Intellectual Property Organization.
During the opening ceremony such distinguished figures as Prof. Dr. Habip Asan (TPI), Mr. Quan- ling Sim (Head of section, WIPO), Mr. Carlo Pandolfi (Director European co-operation, EPO) addressed speeches stressing the importance of organizing international invention exhibition to provide an opportunity for the inventors to display their ideas and technologies for the advancement of countries.
Over 330 innovative technologies from 34 countries including Poland, Iran, Moldova, Romania, Germany, Canada, Thailand, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, UK, Japan, Iraq, Portugal, Indonesia, India, China, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Tunisia were showcased during the event.
During the award ceremony, IFIA Memorial Medal was awarded to Dr. Faruk ÖZLÜ, Minster of Science, Technology and Industry to honor the supports he has offered to the dissemination of the culture of invention and innovation. Moreover, Turkish Patent Institute medal, WIPO medal and three categories of ISIF Gold, Silver and Bronze medals were conferred to the best inventions selected by the international jury board.
