KIYO 2017 Report
Korea International Youth Olympiad 2017, held on August 11 – 13, was even more vibrant festival for creative young students following the successful launch in last year. More than twice as many participants came to the Olympiad as previous year, and the overall scale of the event was increased in many aspects. Participants showed their passion and enthusiasm towards not only the competition but also various events. KIYO was organized by World Women Inventors & Entrepreneurs Association under IFIA‘s patronage in SINTEX, Hwaseongsi, Gyeonggi, Korea.
800 persons from more than 15 countries, including Thailand, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Iran, India, Moldova, etc. attended the event and showcased breakthrough technologies and creative ideas. Moreover, over 400 participants from Republic of Korea joined ‘Team Competition for Creativity’ and ‘The Best of Best Invention’.
Such side events as Invention Quiz Contest, Field trip to KIA Motors, Talent Show, Science Magic Show, and Global Youth Festival also took place.IFIA Best Invention Medals were awarded to Do-hyun Kim (Korea, U1 University) for the invention of “An insect screen attached” (An insect screen which can also function as insecticide), and “Zizigo Bokgo”(Korea).
