Zambia, Vietnam & Angola Join IFIA Members
As the number of IFIA members increases, further opportunities are provided for the entities acting in the area of invention and innovation to create world-scale networks and benefit from the services IFIA provides to the inventors around the globe. It is very fortunate that inventor associations are formed in the marginalized and under-resourced countries winning the chance to identify the inventors and innovators, providing them the required consultation and equipments to develop their ideas, protect them and finally market the product through participation in international invention fairs where technology seekers meet the technology providers. As it is widely known, development of innovation and invention will automatically result in economic improvement and further employment opportunities.
The first association joining IFIA as a full member is the Inventors and Innovators Association of Zambia (IIAZ) recently formed and registered with the assistance of IFIA African Network Coordinator, Mr. Ignatius Nyongo. The association has 42 member inventors with projects in various fields including software; manufacturing technology; energy generation; energy detection and monitoring system; water purification; underground water control; recycling; and Anti-Retroviral Drug Reminder and Dispenser among others.
Vietnam Fund for Supporting Technological Creations (VIFOTEC) is another member association which has been performing several activities since 1992 to strengthen the national science and technology. VIFOTEC has nurtured the culture of invention and innovation through organizing such events as Vietnam Technology Science Creations Award, Nationwide Technology Creations Competition, Nationwide Technology Creations Competition for the Youth and Children. VIFOTEC aims to gain international recognition and organize international events through joining IFIA as a full member.
Finally, Foundation of Inventors and Innovators of Angola (Fii@) working hand in hand with the Angolan Association of Inventors and Innovators (full member) joins IFIA as a corresponding member. The formation of two inventor associations in Angola ensures the growth and development of Angola and Africa in general. Fii@’s areas of activity are education, the production of goods, inventions, innovations and also health. In order to pursue these objectives, prizes and scholarships are granted to persons or institutions carrying out scientific research, inventions and innovations,
