Regina Jeziorska: Polish Researcher, Inventor, Professor
Regina Jeziorska, an associate professor at the Industrial Chemistry Research Institute of Poland and its managing director from 2012 to 2016, is currently leading a group of researchers working on various aspects of recycling and reactive extrusion of polymers, biopolymers, polymer nanocomposites and their applications.
Regina Jeziorska holds over 35 patents and is the editor of one book and author or coauthor of over 150 book chapters and publications in scientific journals. she holds many positions including vice president of Polish Innovators and Rationalizers Association, president of the Sectoral Council of the Chemistry Sector of the Polish Standardization Committee, president of the Technical Committee for Plastics as well as the Technical Committee for Machinery and Equipment for the Processing of Plastics and Rubber of the Polish Standardization Committee, and a member of the Managing Board of the Modification, Degradation and Stabilization Society (MoDeSt). She has been many times a member of the jury of Brussels INNOVA the World Exhibition on Inventions, Research and New Technologies.
Regina Jeziorska has received the M.Sc. (1984), the Ph.D. (1998), and the D.Sc. (2008) degrees from the Warsaw University of Technology, Industrial Chemistry Research Institute and Lublin University of Technology, Poland, respectively. Many of her research results have been implemented in the industry. Her works on engineering polymers from PET bottles and polymeric composites from PC wastes, mainly compact discs were distinguished in the 7th and 11th edition of the Polish Product of the Future Competition in the technology category of the future in 2003 and 2011, respectively.
Her recent work on antimicrobial high-tech products for building industry was awarded in the 19th edition of the Polish Product of the Future Competition in the product category of the future of the scientific unit in 2016.
For scientific and implementation activities prof. Regina Jeziorska has been awarded and honored many times with over 65 medals at international exhibitions of inventions and innovations (e.g. Geneva, Brussels, Nuremburg, Seoul, Warsaw, Budapest, Moscow), including WIPO gold medal for the inventor’s woman (2002), the innovation leader of 2016, the manager of 2016, two awards, the ambassador of innovation for international inventive achievements in 2015, Sendzimir’s medal (2014), Commanding Cross of the Order of Invention of the Kingdom of Belgium (2011), Officer’s Cross of the Order of Invention of the Kingdom of Belgium (2009), Knight’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta (2009), Knight’s Cross of the Order of Invention of the Kingdom of Belgium (2004) and two prizes of the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Poland, Deputy Prime Minister (Brussels 2009 and 2010).
