Seoul International Invention Fair Opens in Late November
This year the 13th annual of Seoul International Invention Fair – SIIF 2017- initiated on 30 November 2017 and lasted for four days closing on 3 December. As one of the world’s largest international invention fairs, SIIF brought the delegates of 30 countries together.
As in the previous editions, SIIF 2017 was organized by the Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA) under the patronage of World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA).
A total of 630 pieces of inventions were showcased from 30 participating countries including Poland, Malaysia, France, the USA, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Yemen, Ghana, Japan, Lebanon, China, Egypt, Germany, Vietnam, Singapore, Russia, Croatia, India, Iran, Taiwan, Province of China, UAE, Thailand, Indonesia, Mexico and Uzbekistan.
Approximately 176 inventions from 120 local South Korean companies were exhibited. The International Invention & Business Pavilion was held alongside the event displaying 20 types of inventions from foreign inventors living in South Korea who wish to open up their own business.
The participants of SIIF 2017 were given the opportunity to enter into the open market, technology transfer, have access to crowdfunding or business meetings for purchase or investment
As an event that showcased global state-of-the-art technologies, SIIF has been putting efforts into building up the international status of the exhibition, working on close cooperation with related international organizations and invention groups from each country to help the participants find their way into the world market.
