Mussila: An Interactive and Engaging Music App
Margret Juliana Sigurdardottir, EUWIIN Award 2017 Winner, has taken music education to the next level with a line of music apps called Mussila which she has developed with her Iceland-based gaming studio Rosamosi.
She is a versatile musician and a postgraduate from the Royal Academy of Music from where she graduated with honours in 2004 and received the academy highest awards DipRAM, Margret is equally capable in classical music and pop music where she has performed with renowned musicians such as Björk and Sigur-Rós.
Mussila is a line of music apps for kids that teach the basics of music, music theory and sight-reading to children by using the means of adventure and gaming. With three apps in app store, Mussila has been very well received and their game Mussial – Musical Monster Adventure has received more than two dozen top ratings and reviews; full score and five stars or Certificates from the BBC Music Magazine, Educational App Store, Teachers with Apps and Fundamentally children (Good App Guide) among other. The aim of Mussila is to revolutionise music education by allowing kids to learn music in a similar way that language has been taught by apps such as Duolingo.
