About SPWiR
The Association of Polish Inventors and Rationalizers is a non-governmental creative organization of a scientific and technical nature, conducting public benefit activities and constituting a voluntary, social association of inventors and creators of innovation, rationalization projects and new technology, as well as people involved in the development of inventive creativity. SPWiR is a non-profit organization.
The present Association of Polish Inventors and Rationalizers is a historical and program continuator of the statutory goals of the previous two associations of inventors, covering the entire country with its activities. It gathers approximately 1,450 inventors and 65 Supporting Members of the SPWiR and has 10 local branches.

The Main Association's Statutory Tasks
The main statutory tasks of the Association are:
- inspiring the development of inventiveness in the country
- promotion of Polish inventions at home and abroad
- protection of the copyrights of inventors and rationalizers
- searching for conditions for the implementation and dissemination of innovations
The statutory tasks of SPWiR are increasingly fulfilled with the support of many central state institutions, mainly the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and the Ministry of Economy, and the Ministry of the Environment.
Bearing in mind the interest of Polish companies in innovative solutions presented abroad, the Association has been organizing the International Warsaw Invention Show IWIS (International Warsaw Invention Show) for 13 years. The IWIS 2019 exhibition was attended by exhibitors from 23 countries from Europe, Asia and the Middle East, who presented around 600 innovative solutions.
International Activities
Since 1990 the Association of Polish Inventors and Rationalizers /API&R/ has been promoting Polish inventions at specialized international inventions’ exhibitions and fairs. Over 2000 Polish innovative technical and process-related solutions were presented at numerous exhibitions on four continents over that period. They were worked out by people affiliated with higher educational entities, academic & research institutes, enterprises, including the MSE sector, as well as by individual inventors. Promotional activity conducted by the Association resulted in a dozen or so medals, special distinctions as well as valuable commercial and business contacts for Polishinnovative technologists. API&R is the organizer of the Polish stands at the most important international exhibitions of inventions: Geneva inventions, EUROINVENT – Romania, IENA – Nuremberg, ARCHIMEDES – Moscow, SIIF Seoul, KIWIE – Seoul, INST – Taipei, MTE, and ITEX – Kuala Lumpur.
