Innovation Week IWA 2021, Event report
The Innovation Week IWA 2021 was held online from 8th to 12th of September, under the honorable patronage of the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) and with the main international partnership of the Oxford Business Group OBG (Research Partner), The Patent Magazine (International Media Partner), PQAI American Initiative (Artificial Intelligence), Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park (SRTIP), UAE (startup incubator), and sponsored by the First Institute of Canadian Inventors (FICI), Canada (Platinum sponsor).
Moreover, it should be mentioned that the success of this event is the result of the hard work and efficiency of IFIA members who joined OFEED’s activities for many years and collaborate by making great efforts to preselect most deserving participants, like NRCT in Thailand, and CAI in China, etc.
This year’s edition, IWA 2021 received 83 finalists from 14 countries / regions and delivered 588 certificates including 121 awards and 467 “Master of Innovation” certificates.
Gold, Silver and Bronze Medal were attributed by Artificial Intelligence engine and confirmed by the international jury of experts leaded by the head of the international jury Dr. Masoud Tajbakhsh. Among the top participating countries / regions: on one hand, Thailand, China and Morocco received respectively 27, 23 and 14 awards; and on the other hand, India, Thailand and Taiwan, China received respectively 284, 72 and 22 “Master of Innovation” certificates.
The online award ceremony was held on the 12th of September, then other awards ceremonies were held physically in Thailand and India on September 16th, 2021:
In India it was organized in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, to honor certified participants and winners from India. Among key personalities from India who gave a speech and/or delivered the certificates to participants:
• The Minister of State for Water, His Excellency Prahlad Singh Patel.
• Smt. Nidhi Singh Rajput, CEO, Jabalpur Smart City Limited.
• Agranshu Dwivedi, Manager-Incubation at Jabalpur Smart City Incubation Center, Start-up Mentor-MSME Madhya Pradesh.
The same day, an award ceremony was organized in Thailand to honor Thai Youth inventors who participated in the Innovation Week IWA 2020. Despite being the youngest in the entire competition, these Thai youth inventors, aged between 9 and 11, have won several awards during the Innovation Week IWA 2020, including Gold, Youth Grand prize, and Youth Best invention in the entire competition. Among key personalities who gave speech and delivered the awards to youth participants:
• His Excellency Abdelilah EL HOUSNI, the Ambassador of His Majesty the King of Morocco in the Kingdom of Thailand.
• Mr. Darm Boontham, Director-General, Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs, at the Thailand Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Also, from the finalists of the Innovation Week IWA 2021, 22 requests were approved to join ICCD and start the commercialization process.
In addition, the Innovation Week IWA 2021 event, as the best didactic event for inventors, broadcasted educational keynote speakers for 5 days, by 24 virtual experts powered by Artificial Intelligence, who discussed 47 Topics classified in 5 Panels of discussions:
• Panel 1: about Artificial Intelligence (5 topics)
• Panel 2: How to achieve progress by innovation? (21 topics)
• Panel 3: Trends of Inventions (10 topics)
• Panel 4: Popular inventions (5 topics)
• Panel 5: Introducing some concepts (6 topics)
Furthermore, an art show “Children’s Anti-Epidemic Ideas, Spreading Wonderful Creativity” was organized in collaboration with Chinese Association of Inventions (CAI), China, to share the creative work of children having 3 to 6 years old from China. The kids received “Little Hero of Creativity” awards.
Finally, it should be noted that this year, the Innovation Week IWA 2021 reached 60 participating countries, and made echo in more than 200 press articles all around the globe in several languages.
