WIPO PCT Workshop 2015 – Iran

During the last days of January 2016, 26 -27, World Intellectual Property Organization, WIPO PCT workshop took place in Amir Kabir University of Tehran, Iran to broaden the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) knowledge of Iranian Inventors. Iran Patent Office, International Federation of Inventors’ Associations collaborated in the organization of this remarkable event.

Initially, Mr. John Sandij, WIPO Deputy Director Geneva appreciated the progresses that Iran has made toward the knowledge based economy and specified Islamic republic of Iran as one of the advanced countries in the fields of innovation and patent protection. , Mr. Sandij also stressed that the organization of such workshops and seminars by Iran Deed and Property Organization can effectively help to the expansion and promotion of Intellectual Property protection as well as invention commercialization.

Mr. Ali Jazairy, WIPO Senior Counselor of PCT International Cooperation Division elaborated on different aspects drafting patent application. Afterwards, Mr. Bijan Nasiri Azam explained claim drafting and PCT international search report.
