Intermountain Forest Association
Timber Workforce Development Summit
May 13, 2008
Red Lion Templin's Hotel - Post Falls, Idaho
Idaho’s sawmill, logging, forestry and transport businesses are looking for ways to better compete for quality workers and keep the industry viable in the future.
The Associated Logging Contractors, the Idaho Forest Products Commission and the Intermountain Forest Association have teamed up to sponsor a study of forestry workforce issues and a summit to consider and evaluate possible solutions. Complete information, agenda, and speakers can be found on the Registration form.
Intermountain Forest Association develops and implements solution-oriented policies intended to provide a positive climate for forest management as well as a stable and sustainable supply of timber from public and private forestlands. The Association also works to assure that regulations affecting our member companies remain reasonable.
Furthermore, we serve as a source of information to media, the public and other interested parties on a wide variety of forestry and natural resource issues; additionally, we provide a conduit for our member companies to develop cooperative relationships among our peers and colleagues.
In pursuit of these goals, the Association is organized into
three program areas: federal government relations, state government
relations, and communications. Each of these programs meets today's
challenges with creative strategies that recognize current
environmental and economic realities. We have a firm commitment to
environmental responsibility and accountability; advancements in
manufacturing technology and forestry science; and the business
principles that have helped forest products businesses survive and
prosper in the intermountain west for a century.
