IFIA General Assembly: Thirty-Fourth Session
Nuremberg, Germany 29 October 2016
Nuremberg, 29 October 2016 – IFIA General Assembly, hosted by iENA, was organized on Saturday, 29 October 2016 in Messe Nürnber, Hall 12 from 10 am to 12 with the participation of 35 members within the following details:

The meeting was opened by expressing condolences on Dr. Hazim Jabbar Al-Daraji and Dr. Andi Dwi Putra’s passing.
IFIA anthem was played at the opening, and IFIA President, Alireza Rastegar, welcomed the participating members and thanked the iENA organizers for hosting the event.
The participants were then requested to announce their attendance and provide a short explanation on the activities of their association.
Next, the financial report for 2015 and 2016 was provided by IFIA Treasurer and approved by the General Assembly members.
Afterward, the membership of two associations, namely the Angola Association of Inventors and Innovators and the National Association of Inventors of Macedonia, was voted and received the majority of the votes. Both of the associations were given recognition as IFIA Candidate members.
Moreover, IFIA corresponding members from Iraq, Iraqi Inventors and Innovators Society (IIIS), as well as the candidate member from Palestine, Higher Council for Innovation and Excellence, were determined to be full members taking into account the activities they have performed to disseminate the culture of invention and innovation in their countries.
Then the nominees for IFIA Executive Committee were introduced, and General Assembly members were requested to cast their votes in the ballot box to act according to IFIA Statutes.
IFIA Directors counted the votes and announced that three out of the 24 candidates did not receive the required votes.
The General Assembly members approved to launch of IFIA’s second headquarters in the United States.
Finally, the IFIA Plan of Action covering the period of 2017-2018 was presented during the meeting.
