World Women Inventors and Entrepreneurs Association
As one of the women inventors in the world, I am very overwhelmed by the fact that invention brought all of you from the world together. We live in an era of intellectual property rights.
The competition between countries depends on the development of high tech and the necessary acquisition of intellectual property rights. But, as equally important are the ideas for inventions that women find in daily life with their sensitiveness.
As such, World Women Inventors and Entrepreneur’s Association (WWIEA) was launched in Korea in 2008, with 18 countries under the agreement of international representatives during Korea International Women’s Invention Exposition. In 2009, the first general assembly and a joining ceremony for new members was held.
The ultimate object of WWIEA is to make a women’s global network, reaching beyond the ideology and national boundaries.
WWIEA build the supportive system which can prevent the women inventors and entrepreneurs from suffering disadvantages in economic activities due to the lack of recognition about their potential for invention.
As part of effort, Korea International Women’s Invention Exposition and Korea International Women’s Invention Forum, International Workshop for Women Inventors and Entrepreneurs take place in Seoul every year. Through these events, women inventors and entrepreneurs share the best practices of supportive policies of each country and suggest the successful stories and ideas.
It’s necessary for us to identify high potential women to be successful entrepreneurs through their inventions with Intellectual Property rights and utilize their capability in the world market.
I hope all of you will show us a big interest and a cooperation in the activities of WWIEA that helps to transform ordinary women to women entrepreneurs through Intellectual property rights. We are also looking forward to your joining us in the near future.
